Graubünden
Graubünden is an eastern Swiss wine region with a strong Pinot Noir identity and a small but distinctive tradition of the white grape Completer.
Pinot Noir is the leading grape and appears in a range of styles, including fruit-led wines and more structured barrel-matured bottlings. The region also grows several white varieties. Completer is a rare local speciality, offering a particularly distinctive route into the area’s wine heritage.
The Bündner Herrschaft village names provide useful points of orientation when exploring producers. Compare Pinot Noir across growers before assuming one regional style, then seek out a white wine to broaden the picture. The region’s Alpine setting is part of its landscape, but does not mean every vineyard occupies a high mountain site.
