Slavonia
Wine regionCroatia
Slavonia is a continental Croatian wine region with a particularly strong identity built around Graševina whites.
Graševina, also known internationally as Welschriesling, offers the clearest introduction to the region. Vineyards occupy slopes around several inland hills and established centres such as Kutjevo. The region includes a range of producers and sites, so its signature grape can appear in several styles.
Compare Graševina from different named locations before treating it as a single simple white-wine category. Producer choices and harvest conditions can lead to lighter dry wines, more concentrated examples and sweet styles. Slavonia broadens the Croatian wine picture beyond the islands and Mediterranean red grapes.
