Goriška Brda

Wine districtSlovenia

Goriška Brda is a hilly Slovenian wine district on the Italian border, with Rebula a defining local white grape.

Rebula, known across the border as Ribolla Gialla, gives the district a distinctive point of reference. Producers also grow Sauvignonasse, Chardonnay and Merlot among other varieties. The border separates national wine systems, while the surrounding hills form a connected vineyard landscape.

Explore Rebula in more than one form: producers make a range of still wines, and some also offer sparkling or skin-contact interpretations. The grape name identifies the variety, while the cellar method shapes texture and colour. Brda is therefore a useful place to compare winemaking approaches within a single local tradition.
